What pleasant surprise, just when you think there are no UFO magazines around, a bit like busses, two arrive at almost the same time and ‘UFO Today’ is the latest arrival and what a real pleasure it is to read. Published by Dead Good Publications, it has the good fortune to be edited by the ever reliable, fair minded and extremely knowledgeable Philip Mantle who has been around the UFO scene for decades and understands only too well the many foibles associated with the enigma.

Most magazines on this subject tend to concentrate on one side or another of the divide and stay there, but what makes this magazine different is that it gives voice to all shades of opinion, both pro and con, on the UFO phenomenon. The production values are outstanding and the extensive content even more so and the impressive list of contributors and columnists includes such UFO icons as Nick Pope, Kevin Randle, John Hanson, Pat Nolan, Mary Rodwell, Paul Dale Roberts, Dr Roger Leir, Nigel Watson, the ever reliable Kevin Randle and many more.

The first issue contains an eclectic selection packed with material ranging from Roswell to the lesser known enigma of the Zanfretti case and includes a thoughtful piece on crop circles entitled ‘Beyond The Matrix, is The Phenomenon Coming to an End?’. This magazine, which also includes a review section,  is a refreshing and welcome addition to the ranks of UFO related material and deserves to be read, and I have no doubt that the high standard will be maintained.
