Singer/Songwriter Shari Bales to Guest on The Jimmy Star Show Wednesday November 27th, 2013

Shari Bales  has a big voice, a big heart, and a big family! She is one of nine children and has always loved music. Since the age of five her family has had a tough time keeping the mic out of Shari's hand. Gaining recognition for her vocals by winning numerous talent competitions, including winning talent twice in the Miss Arkansas pageant, it was easy to see Shari was born to be on stage. Since earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Arkansas, she has become an accomplished professional vocalist and vocal coach. Shari has performed in front of tens of thousands of people at events ranging from concerts to sporting events. Shari has always had a passion for supporting the American Cancer Society. Since it's inception in 1999, Shari has performed and supported Garland County's Relay for Life, not missing a single year. Most recently, Shari performed at the John Daly benefit golf tournament in Dardanelle, AR. As she continues pursuing her dream, the possibilities seem endless. Shari's musical influences range from Beverly Sills to Reba McEntire. Her classical training has allowed her to expand her repertoire to include everything from jazz to country to rock and roll. Although she can wail at most anything, her heart has always been with country music. At a young age she began listening to Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Patty Loveless, Tanya Tucker, and Patsy Cline. Without a doubt she is most at home while singing country music.

 Shari's debut  single "Second Place" hit the airwaves and online this year. A full CD is in the works for 2014 with original music written by Shari and her band along with songs from prominent songwriters. "Second Place" is the product of a wonderful collaboration between Gail King (Nashville) and Shari. As of November 2013 it is the most played country song on TwitMusic with over 32,000 plays.
