Students Display Management Skills at Rachnoutsav

HYDERABAD, India - Nov. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Rachnoutsav Academy, the first institute in South Asia offering integrated learning programme in event management, wedding planning and designing, celebrated its first annual day ‘JAZBAA 2013’ at ITC Kakatiya on Wednesday. The annual day was planned, conceptualised and executed by the students of the academy.

The day saw dance performances by students on popular Bollywood numbers. A ramp walk by students as well as staff was also held. Several interactive games were also conducted. Singer Naburan Ghosh was anchor for the evening and entertained the guests with his popular numbers. The function was graced by Ani l Kumar, vice-president, Times of India; Mahesh Joshi, head of Emergency Medicine, Apollo Hospitals; Seema, consultant, Rachnoutsav Academy among others. The Rachnoutsav Academy was set up \­to fill the skill gap in the event management industry, informed its founder Rakhi Kankaria.

“Event management is a skill. Unfortunately no Indian university recognises this. We have been in touch with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to recognise event management as a skill development course,” informed Sanjay Kankaria, director of the Academy. Starting with 75 students in 2012, Rachnoutsav Academy today boasts of being the alma mater to approximately 200 students. Time-tested curriculum put in place by industry experts, frequent industry interface added to the success and helped produce skilled professionals xready for absorption by the industry. Speaking on the occasion, Shubham Bansal, a student of Rachnoutsav, said, “I am ecstatic to showcasing my event mana gement skills to all. We put in a lot of preparation of about four to five weeks for this programme.” Another student, Shafeeq Mohammad, said that the course had given him a lot of confidence and had helped him in becoming a good planner.
