Nov. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- The idea of Handmade Homeware has started on a warm summer night with the wine inspired discussion on so called “sustainable design”, consumption habits and generally our global industrial culture. The conversation on how the globalization caused significant challenges to the survival of traditional forms of craftsmanship flowed and lasted nearly until dawn. Next day a little idea sparked in my head to create a place that sells designs that will not be trashed and discarded for generations to come. I shared that thought with my friend and that how we come up with our business- we decided to open an online shop selling hand-made home accessories that are well conceived and beautifully crafted with a gentle relationship to nature and socio-cultural backgrounds.

We both have a different cultural backgrounds and we share a huge passion for traditional craft so we did not have any problems to decide what we are going to sell in our shop.

We are aware that mass production can often supply goods needed for daily life at a lower cost therefore many craftspeople struggle to adapt to this competition. We work together with small businesses where manufacturing process is based on craftsmanship and traditional skills coupled with new technologies therefore we can supply stunning hand-made items that everyone can afford to buy despite the fact that they may be little more expensive for the one that you will find on the high street. Instead of selling disposable things made for a one-time use we are choosing goods that tells the story of the region they came from and which are made to last a lifetime.

We are aware that at the moment there are many online businesses selling handmade accessories but what make us different form is that we offer items that are not one off products made by individuals but are supply from well established European manufactures who despite huge competition manage to preserve traditional production methods and are supporting local people.

At the moment in our shop we offer handmade pottery, pure linen tableware and hand crocheted accessories. Gradually we are going to increase the range of products we sell and our aim is to select products form around the Europe that are made to the highest standards by using traditional methods. We are very conscientious in choice of product we sell and personally select everything you'll find on our site.
