Oz Resort Celebrates 25 years of Swimsuits

While some businesses are closing their doors, Oz Resort has doubled theirs. The iconic Mosman swimwear store is celebrating twenty-five years in business and has opened a second store on the Military Road retail strip.

Twenty-five years ago, Jacqueline Major owner and Managing Director of Oz Resort approached a bank in Mosman for a small loan of $5000 to start her business idea. Jacqui was studying Public Relations and Marketing and had to complete an assignment on starting a small business. She called that business Oz Resort and loved the business plan so much she put it into action.

The bank manager told her that they did not lend money to young girls and to take cooking lessons and get married instead. With the same determination that has seen her quite often, overcome hard times, she put it on her credit card and started it anyway.

Today, Oz Resort has grown from strength to strength, stocking all the best brands in Australia and New Zealand including Seafolly, Jets Swimwear, Baku, Ginja, Tigerlily, Speedo, Mirclesuits and her own sun protection swimwear label for kids, Ozi Varmints. With the recent hot weather, sales for Oz Resort are booming, which is an uplifting story in times where many have closed down. Jacqueline would love to find the bank manager to thank him for the motivation to start her business and although cooking classes would have come in handy, her two gorgeous sons are her proudest achievement.
