Saint Lucia has become more accessible for those situated in the north of England, with new flights launched from Manchester. Flights have also been launched from a selection of regional hubs, including Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Inverness, Isle of Man, Norwich and Southampton. www.stlucia.org

The Malta Tourism Authority has revealed the fact that the Maltese Archipelago is now more accessible than ever with the launch of direct flights with British Airways from London Gatwick to Malta International Airport. This new service will commence on 30 March 2014, with flights up to seven days a week in advance of the peak summer holiday season. www.visitmalta.com

The West Sweden Tourist Board has unveiled a new initiative - www.meettheswedes.com - which enables Swedes living locally to hire out accommodation to visitors, including their summer houses.
