From the upscale spas to lift tickets and rentals, a Southern Oregon winter vacation can really put a hole in the wallet. Which is why this list of some money saving tips will help alleviate some of those I spent too much money blues. Thats right! When vacationing with a group, just do the math - a vacation rental can end up fitting the definition perfectly when it comes to affordable. And a rental is well worth the price as most are nice, if not beautiful, conveniently located homes with nothing cheap about them. Here’s one vacation rental with many options and price ranges.

Built in 1903, Maxfield's is a charming Victorian home in Ashland's historic district. Features include fir floors, oriental rugs and period inspired furniture. The name is inspired by the artist Maxfield Parrish as some of his artwork is displayed here. Located just a few minutes walk from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival theaters and the heart of downtown, you will be close to all of the fine restaurants, bakeries, coffee houses and specialty shops that historic Ashland offers. Groceries, wine & beer, and fresh pastries can be found almost next door.

This turn of the century classic features period details throughout. It has two levels and sleeps a maximum of eight. There are 3 queen size beds and 2 twins. The twins can be put together and converted into a king.  The lower level, main floor has about 1200 square feet and includes a parlor and drawing room, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, master bedroom and bath plus another half bath and laundry off the kitchen. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the cozy drawingroom which can be made very private. There are two covered porches, one in front, one in the rear, both with white wicker furniture. Each overlooks a small cottage garden.  A classic entry with wooden stairs and balustrade leads to the upper level which has two bedrooms featuring dormer windows and sloping ceilings. Between them is a full bath. The house features a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, televisions, DVD, CD stereo, WiFi, video and book libraries, laundry, central air conditioning, steam/jet tub/shower and more.
