U R Awesome Inc. Launches IndieGoGo Campaign Raising Funds For Youth Empowerment Seminar Blitz

EUGENE, Ore. - Dec. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- The hype is real.  Kemy Joseph and his U R Awesome team have come together to launch the biggest initiative in the organization’s 4-year history — an IndieGoGo campaign raising money to provide youth empowerment programs to schools free of charge.

With a revamp of the brand, website and services, U R Awesome Inc. 2.0 is making a debut in classrooms nationwide with its Kindness Coaching program and Art of Being Awesome development series designed to “Empower Youth Through Dialogue and Action.”

Since the organization’s inception, it was always Joseph’s intention to affect positive change in the lives of young people:

“Many high schoolers are disenfranchised because of their peers, their parents or the community they grew up in. I’ve always had a strong feeling that young minds must be cultivated and students must be given the tools necessary to build a life they feel empowered to live. We want to help students see that they’re more than the environment they were born into — that they have unique gifts that can help them thrive and succeed in life.”

U R Awesome Inc. was born out of the idea that kindness, compassion and unconditional love have an inherent power to heal and enlighten people. Joseph, a wounded soul himself at a young age, was able to come through the traumatic loss of his father with the support and kindness of siblings, teachers and friends.

Without the hard work of changing his outlook on life, Joseph says he may have ended up dead or in prison. Instead, he took a different and more rewarding path, which enabled him to graduate at the top of his high school class and earn a full-ride scholarship to the University of Miami in Florida.

Since his freshman year as an undergraduate, Joseph has made significant investments in sharing his philosophy of love, compassion and kindness.  In his early days as an ambassador of awesome, many knew him as the sign-wearing student who reminded people of their awesomeness with free hugs, high-fives and peaceful pounds.  As his college years went on, the kindness mantra spread and Joseph was compelled to start an organization that would encompass this powerful philosophy:

“U R Awesome Inc. was created to help people discover and maximize their potential while empowering them to do the same for others.  As a strong advocate of positive reinforcement, it’s been my personal mission to break cycles of negativity with kindness. In the past, this took the form of free hugs, relief drives, random acts of kindness and even a World Kindness Tour.  Today, the organization is heavily invested in creating more supportive learning environments in schools, so students, teachers, and faculty members can feel appreciated, enjoy learning, and succeed academically.”

Focused on self-appreciation, self-care, and collaborating with kindness, the Art of Being Awesome development series is being offered in classroom visits, seminars, and workshops as well as in a master class for those looking to start a U R Awesome Club at their schools.

Through IndieGoGo.com, Team U R Awesome has set a goal of $15,000 to bring these programs to schools around the country.  The campaign runs through December 23rd, 2013 11:59 PST.  Whether or not the goal is met, funds will change hands.  The team is already more than $5,000 closer towards their objective.  Those interested in the movement should visit http://igg.me/p/559983/x/5287380 to pledge their support.
