Take The Wheel In Memory Of A Friend: Fundraiser For The Grady De La Cruz Memorial Scholarship

MILWAUKEE - Dec. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Heiser Ford Lincoln is bringing Lincoln’s Driven To Give program to the community in an effort to raise up to $6,000 in remembrance of a late Marquette High School Alumnus. For every person who takes the wheel and test-drives an eligible Lincoln vehicle at Heiser Ford Lincoln in Glendale on Saturday, December 14th, Heiser Ford Lincoln and Lincoln Motor Company will donate $20 to the Grady de la Cruz Memorial Scholarship. The funds will go to support the first annual scholarship in honor of the Marquette High School alumnus who passed away earlier this year.

Richard “Grady” de la Cruz died in a tragic accident on Lake Mendota on Wednesday, August 21st. Grady, a native of Wauwatosa, was an alumnus of Marquette High School. He was attending the University of Wisconsin Madison and had recently transferred from Marquette University. He was majoring in Occupational Psychology.

“We know the passing of Grady was a shock to the community. He was a positive, well rounded student. He had a great future ahead of him,” Chris Meyer, General Manager at Heiser Ford Lincoln. “That’s why we want to honor his memory by helping other local students get a great education, so they can give back to the community, just like Grady wanted to do. By helping support this scholarship, we are helping keep his spirit alive in the hearts of those who loved him.”

The event will be held at the Glendale dealership from 9:30AM to 4:30PM.  Attendees can choose to test-drive from the Lincoln lineup. Heiser Ford Lincoln’s staff will be on-site to speed the process and provide additional information about each vehicle.

Heiser Ford Lincoln in Glendale between 9:30AM and 4:30PM on Saturday, December 14th. Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household. All test drives will last approximately 7-10 minutes.
