Follow on Google News | CYTOO’s 2D+/3D Cell Culture Platform in the spotlight with Manuel Théry presenting at ASCB 2013CYTOO will be at the ASCB Annual Meeting in New Orleans, USA, to present its 2D+ and 3D Cell Culture Platform. This innovative solution opens fresh perspectives for cell based assay development, through more physiologically relevant cellular models.
By: CYTOO On December 17, from 1:45 pm to 3:45 pm, Manuel Théry, PhD (iRTSV, CEA) will present a showcase entitled Enabling cell physiology through 2D+/3D cell culture on micropatterns with Sébastien Degot, Senior R&D Scientist (CYTOO). In vivo, cell phenotype results from the integration of signals obtained from genotype, developmental processes, soluble mediators, adhesion molecules and cell shape, which has been ignored in 2D culture systems. 2D+ micropatterning tool provides cultured cells with structural guidance. This enables the study of structure and function of cell division, mitochondrial function, cellular trafficking, axon formation, and ciliogenesis. 2D+ improves cellular assays performance, and the quality and relevance of data acquired by generating a more physiological phenotype. Micropatterns allow the guidance of cells into 3D structures. This can promote the formation of spheroids and nephrotubules as example. CYTOO’s presentation will focus on cellular micropatterning for single and multiple cell applications and present the unique cell culture advantages of 2D+ and 3D. Manuel Théry’s presentation will be focused on the impact of micro-environment and mechano-biology on cell culture models, and on the challenges for the future. CYTOO is also participating to the Thermo Scientific workshop, held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 11:30 to 1:30, to present the Advantages of CYTOO's 2D+/3D Cell Culture Platform for the imaging and analysis of complex cell models such as myogenesis: assessment using the Thermo Scientific Cellomics CellInsight. “Predictive bioassays need more physiologically relevant cellular models while remaining compatible with efficient high-throughput imaging and analysis. In other words, the 2D+/3D Cell Culture Platform is essential!” says Sébastien Degot. Attendees are invited to visit ASCB Booth #442 to discuss their application with our experts.
