Internationally acclaimed opera singers and concert pianists can be heard in these concerts that take place in St Hugh Church in Coconut Grove.
María Aleida electrified St. Hugh’s audience last year with both musical warmth and a stratospheric vocal range. In the prime of her opera career, she is currently engaged at Paris’s Opera Bastille to sing Elvira in Bellini’s I Puritani, and tours regularly with tenor Andrea Bocelli. She will delight our audience this time with arias by Debussy, Faure, Thomas, and Rossini plus favorite Christmas carols accompanied by pianist Roberto Berrocal, the series’ artistic director. To hear her up close in an intimate recital is a rare treat. St. Hugh Concert Series partners with Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and Barry University as their Educational Supportive Partners. St. Hugh concert’s mission is to present the highest quality Opera Stars accompanied by Artistic Director/ Pianist, Roberto Berrocal while benefiting St. Hugh Church Charities. “I love bringing our community together to enjoy the arts while making a positive impact in our community” Smilka Melgoza, Development Chair of St. Hugh Concert Series and Founder of ShareKindness.
