The Brainerd Lakes Area Paul Bunyan 5k Extreme Mud Run Registration is now available

BRAINERD, Minn. - Dec. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- The Brainerd Lakes Area is gearing up for the 2014 summer season and one of the area’s newest events will be taking its second run. The Paul Bunyan 5k Extreme at Mount Ski Gull just north of Brainerd was a great success in 2013 with hundreds of participants and awesome obstacles and they plan on taking it to another level for 2014.

The event will be held Saturday, July 12^th 2014 and registration will be open beginning this Friday, December 13th at 7am. One major change to registration this year is that your ticket will be to a particular heat so you will know right away when you will be racing. The 8:00am and 8:30am races are competitive class only. To race in this heat you should be able to run a regular 5k in 27 minutes or less. The 9am race is for sponsors only, with all other heats to follow every half hour. First come, first serve. Limit of 100 per race, so get your teams together soon for the best times! Team mates will still be timed together even if you aren’t in the same heat.

This year there will be more spectators viewing, more water stops, some of last year’s favorite obstacles, and some insane new ones! Of course for those who enjoy bringing their own lodging can stay at the Lum Park RV Park.  Summer in the Brainerd Lakes Area is very busy and the lodging properties usually fill up quickly so be sure to make your reservation right away.
