According to media reports and a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Washington was arrested for the production of child pornography and accused of taking nude photos of an underage victim. Washington allegedly told a 15-year-old girl’s mother that he had to make an investigation, took her into a room by herself, ordered her to remove her clothes, and took nude photos of her under the false premise of a police investigation. Washington was released from prison on Monday, Dec. 9, and placed under house arrest. Washington was found dead in the Potomac River the next day.

“Washington’s alleged behavior is an outrageous invasion of privacy and shocking abuse of authority. If the charges are accurate, he violated the public trust and caused severe emotional distress to his victims,” said Scott Lucas, an experienced attorney with The Cochran Firm, D.C., who is representing one of Washington’s victims and her family. “We are actively and aggressively investigating this case and will analyze all potential legal claims arising from Washington’s crimes.”

The Cochran Firm, D.C. has extensive experience providing legal services to hundreds of victims who have been illegally photographed. Earlier in 2013, Baltimore police and Johns Hopkins Medicine officials investigated gynecologist Dr. Nikita Levy over accusations he secretly recorded his female patients in the examination room. Dr. Levy later committed suicide. Scott Lucas is available for comment regarding the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Officer Marc Washington investigation.
