Award-winning Teen Author And Microsoft Host Holiday Book Drive

ATLANTA - Dec. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- AALAS Sci-fi Author of the Year and Black Boys Can Read and Write Founder Stone Erickson sparked the Christmas spirit by giving back to the kids of the A.W. Tony Matthews Boys and Girls Club on Saturday December 14, 2013. The young author Stone Erickson partnered with Delphine Publications and the Atlanta Microsoft Store to share the gift of reading with kids ages 10-15 from the A.W. Tony Matthews Boys and Girls Club. Additional Boys and Girls Club locations, other community organizations and kids from the Atlanta metro area were also in attendance. The Black Angel and League of Legends holiday book drive collected more than 200 much-needed books for the A.W. Tony Matthews Boys and Girls Club.

Stone Erickson assisted the kids as they lined up with picking out a book of interest and signed copies of his novel “Black Angel.” As a teen who loves video games and reading Stone Erickson’s novel combines his two interests, which inspired his advocacy for kids to find the perfect book. He believes more kids would enjoy reading if parents and schools selected a variety of genres of books. Attendees also enjoyed pizza from Nancy’s Pizza Buckhead, played League of Legends, Xbox One and won prizes. Sponsors for the book drive included Delphine Publications, the Microsoft Store of Lenox Mall, Nancy’s Pizza Buckhead, Dafina Books, Little Brown for Young Readers, Khara Campbell and NCM Publishing.
