GraMedica® to sponsor advanced surgical training in Bogotá, Colombia

On February 17, 2014, over 40 orthopedic surgeons will receive advanced surgical training at an event sponsored by GraMedica® to be held at CLEMI, a specialized educational facility in Bogotá, Colombia. Prominent surgeons from Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, and several other Latin American countries are scheduled to attend.

GraMedica® is the Macomb, Michigan developer and manufacturer of HyProCure®, a surgical stent that has been used in over 23,000 procedures worldwide to treat hyperpronation, a surgically correctable condition that results in the misalignment of the foot and other major structures of the body. Left untreated, hyperpronation can lead to serious, long-term foot, knee, hip, and back related issues that often require much more aggressive forms of surgery. The minimally invasive HyProCure® procedure has provided more than 17,000 children and adult patients with immediate and permanent correction for hyperpronation.

Upon completion of the surgical training program, attendees will have the information they need to diagnose and surgically treat hyperpronation using GraMedica’s HyProCure® Stent. They will also be equipped with information needed to increase awareness among medical professionals and patients in their respective countries.

Centro Latinoamericano de Investigación y Entrenamiento en Cirugía de Mínima Invasión (CLEMI) is a prominent reference center for excellence in Latin America. CLEMI is globally-known for their technology infrastructure and training activities in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
