Follow on Google News | Author compiles interviews with Monkee Davy Jones for first ebookBy: Steve Marinucci "Davy was an interesting guy to interview," Marinucci says. "He was very direct and opinionated in his interviews with me, and that is evident in the book." Even though the book is about the Monkees, it also has a strong Beatles connection. The first interview was done in reponse to a comment by Jones quoted by the New York Daily News that the Beatles were manufactured, a charge often leveled at the Monkees. "I wanted to hear more of what Davy thought, and he certainly told me," Marinucci says. "He gave surprising opinions on the individual Beatles and Yoko Ono, of whom he was a fan." The short book, priced at only 99 cents, is the first ever book by Marinucci, who says he's also at work on a Beatles book. "I think from reading the book people will find Davy to be much more than the teen idol guy he played on the Monkees," Marinucci says. Marinucci's reports on Beatles news can be found on Examiner.com under the columns for Beatles Examiner, Paul McCartney Examiner, George Harrison Examiner and Ringo Starr Examiner. He also writes a column as the Vintage Rock 'n' Roll Examiner. In addition, he co-hosts a weekly radio show, "Things We Said Today," with Ken Michaels, known for his "Every Little Thing" Beatles radio show. The two discuss the latest Beatles news and feature guests in the news. Recent intervews have featured Freda Kelly of "Good Ol' Freda," Rusty Anderson of Paul McCartney's band and singer Billy J. Kramer. You can find out more about about the book at http://www.amazon.com/ End
