iOS app scans, crops, saves 30 photos in ten minutes

CENTRAL DISTRICT, Hong Kong - Dec. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Pic Scanner, an app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, makes the normally tedious task of scanning old photos incredibly fast and easy: Photograph three or four photos at a time with your mobile device, and the app will automatically and accurately detect, crop and save them as individual photos. Editing, applying filters, adding captions, and creating albums can then be done with a few taps.

Scanning not only preserves photos for posterity, it also makes them portable and sharable. Pic Scanner allows scanned photos to be shared via Facebook, Google+, Twitter and email, and archived in iCloud or Dropbox.

The app can even scan photos pasted in albums or mounted in frames. Conventional scanners cannot do this.

Pic Scanner uses proprietary technology for multi-scanning and automatic cropping. It does all processing directly on the device, not on a remote server. So users do not have to connect to the Internet to save or view photos, or incur data charges, or worry about privacy.

The full-featured app can be downloaded free from Apple’s App Store. This free edition offers ten opportunities to scan and three to share photos. After this, a one-time $2.99 in-app purchase provides unlimited scanning and sharing privileges. Users can thus try the app before buying.

Developed by App Initio Ltd (http://www.appinitio.com/picscanner), Pic Scanner was soft-launched in mid-2013. Version 2.0 released this week has an all-new look and several new features.

An Android version is also in the works.
