Three More Landmark Dreams Awarded

These are always touching stories from a company that truly cares about its staff.

Jan. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Holding true to their tradition, Landmark Home Warranty recently awarded three more employees a “Landmark Dream” just before Christmas. A couple times a year the Landmark CEO, Alma Jeppson accepts employee nominations for a wish that seems beyond an employee’s reach. These are always touching stories from a company that truly cares about its staff.

Josef, a Customer Service representative of ten months, dreamed of a special anniversary weekend with his wife. What may seem like an easy and affordable getaway to most was an impossible dream to Josef. The combination of a 250-mile commute from home to work (which he does 2-3 times a month), a custody battle for his wife’s three boys, and his wife finishing a degree at Boise State, they would be lucky to be together in the same state for their anniversary, not to mention every penny of their income is already spoken for. Josef took the job at Landmark in Salt Lake City, Utah after months of searching unsuccessfully in Boise. The custody battle and school keeps his wife and three boys in Boise for several more months. With Landmark’s help, Josef is getting three days of paid vacation, a weekend stay at a very nice hotel resort, and some spending money to celebrate their second anniversary in style.

“When Alma stood up to announce the Landmark Dreams recipients at the Christmas party and called my name I was stunned. By the time my wife joined us on the stage I was almost in tears. I don’t know if I have ever received anything so nice and no company has even come close.”

Elisabeth was the next Dream recipient to be called to the stage, with the announcement she was going to spend Christmas with her Mother in Texas. Elisabeth’s Mom has a terminal illness and it’s been months since they’ve been together. Elisabeth’s dream was to spend the holidays with her Mom, not knowing if it will be the last. The flight, paid time off, and spending money were all included as Elisabeth accepted the gift with teary eyes.

Last of the Dream recipients announced this day was Matt, a dedicated employee of nearly two years. Matt has medical issues frequently sending him to the hospital. The hospital bills and his wife’s college tuition have put them in steep debt for decades to come. Very few at Landmark knew about Matt’s condition, or that Matt’s wife’s family emigrated from Switzerland. The announcement that Matt and his wife were going to Wengen Switzerland to visit her Grandmother’s hometown was both thrilling and touching.

“Alma and Landmark Home Warranty have provided me with the opportunity I feared I would never have; that is to take my wife on her dream vacation and visit the grounds where her Grandmother was raised.”

“You will frequently hear around the office the phrase, ‘I love my Landmark family.’ As a family in business we work hard to bless the lives of others as well as our own.” – Alma Jeppson

Alma and Landmark have built a culture of family and caring in the workplace, and not surprisingly also resulting in tremendous success for the business, which grew over 200% in 2013 and recognized as one of the fastest growing private insurance companies in the nation according to Inc 500/5000.
