THE WAR IN MY RACK, a book by Stephanie Worrell

SEATTLE - Jan. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- “The War In My Rack”, Stephanie Worrell’s debut book, is the product of a woman’s emotional vulnerability and honesty. It is the result of a woman broken by disease who rose above the struggles that plagued her life and transformed into the confident woman we see before us. It is the personal testimony of a life survivor who was able to find peace within her and also discover the power of her life’s journey in helping fighters and survivors around the world. As a breast cancer survivor, Stephanie was faced with the challenges of coming to terms with a sickness that constantly tested her will and desire to beat the odds. Refusing to let her illness define her individuality and control her future, Worrell’s love for writing allowed her to escape from the emotional pains that consumed her life.

“The War In My Rack,” has done more than allow Stephanie the opportunity to speak and write about the painful effects of life threatening diseases, rather it has allowed her to bring to focus the importance of cherishing and changing personal relationships with family and friends before it is too late. Self-love and discovery is a constant theme that resonates throughout the book, as Stephanie explains the need for individuals to reevaluate what they need in life in order to survive. While society raises us to believe that family is unconditional love no matter what, Stephanie challenges that notion through her struggles to maintain crumbling relationships with loved ones. Through these times of uncertainty and doubt, with those whom she believed would remain constant in her life, Stephanie was able to better understand her purpose in the lives of others. Cancer served as a vessel in giving Worrell the time she needed to evaluate who she was as a person, healing her emotional wounds, and replacing her negativity and fears with hope and perseverance.

Inspired by her own battles to push through the darkness that was cancer, Stephanie’s strength was yet again tested as her husband of 36 years, Christian Worrell III, died unexpectedly as her book went to print. Faced with the opportunity to let this tragedy tear her back down, Stephanie was able to stand on her two feet and appreciate the love she shared with the man that had remained her rock through all of life’s adversities.
