According to site creators, the free service was created by those living firsthand with the condition and was designed to give patients and caregivers a resource for information and connections to others affected by, what can be, a debilitating condition. According to the National MS Society, more than 2.5 million people are affected worldwide. This MS Life was created as a clearinghouse to match support seekers and mentors based off of a 40+-question survey. Matches are handpicked and made on criteria including gender, age, stage of MS, geographic location, language, religion and sexual orientation. Soon to be available in neurology offices around the United States, the guide was written in easy-to-understand language by MSers for MSers. “A MS diagnosis can be overwhelming not only for the patient, but for their entire support system,” said site founder McCall Teicher. “We created This MS Life so that nobody would have to go through it alone. We’re here to give advice, provide insight or just listen.
