AHBE Joins the Creative Migration to Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, CA (January 16, 2013) – AHBE Landscape Architects (www.AHBE.com), an award-winning landscape architectural design firm, today announced the move of their creative studio to downtown Los Angeles in the heart of the historic core. “Our new office space represents an exciting new change,” said AHBE President, Calvin Abe, FASLA. “We’re energized about building an evolving, collaborative office and becoming a part of the vibrant downtown Los Angeles creative community.”

AHBE’s move is indicative of a growing trend as more businesses are seeking to convert traditional high-rise office buildings into alternative, creative studio space.  According to a recent CBRE report (http://www.cbre.com/EN/aboutus/MediaCentre/2013/Pages/CBRE-Releases-New-Report-on-Growth-of-Creative-Office-in-Los-Angeles.aspx), downtown Los Angeles has experienced an increase in such transactions from 12% in 2011 to 24% in 2012, and is expecting a more marked increase in 2013.

AHBE is currently working on several large-scale urban landscape design and development projects, including: an entertainment courtyard for the JW Marriott at LA Live in Downtown LA; a healing garden for patients and visitors at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center featuring an interactive installation by Ball Nogues Studio; and the much-anticipated Johnny Carson Park in Burbank, which is a four-acre natural habitat restoration in a quintessentially urban environment.
