Follow on Google News | Tricoci University launches innovative new hair extension course and supports Chicago's first Drybar“Following Mario’s original vision, Tricoci University of Beauty Culture has always brought innovation to beauty education and stayed on top of industry trends,” said Brian Weed, CEO of Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. “The demand for hair extension services continues its rapid growth, but teaching extensions to students is difficult. By offering this new elective course, we allow interested students the option for advanced skills that will make them even more salon-ready at graduation. Blowouts are another rapidly growing service in the industry, and we were honored that Drybar, which essentially invented the trend in Los Angeles, contacted us for support as they were opening their first Midwest store in Chicago. In addition to providing facilities for their training, they also have hired a number of our graduates. We know both Drybar and our TUBC grads will be successful, and wish them the very best!” Hair Extension Courses TUBC’s hair extension elective course is offered periodically during the year at all campus locations. Classes include instruction on the various types of extensions and application processes such as tape and fusion bonding, as well as styling tips and tricks. Theclasses answer common questions about hair extensions including durability, application processes and how to style extensions after they are applied in someone’s hair. Supporting Drybar Chicago The leader of the blow dry bar concept - Drybar - entered the Chicago market and opened on December 13th in Lincoln Park. TUBC opened its campus to allow Drybar to train its staff, and also helped to place some of its recent graduates at the store. Erica Valentin of Chicago, Illlinois, is one of these fortunate alumni. She graduated TUBC in March of 2011, took on several internships to further perfect her skills, and was recently hired full time at Drybar Chicago. Valentin is also simultaneously training for a shop manager position. “Having gone to TUBC helped me get this job over other stylists because not only does TUBC train us on various beauty skills and techniques, but they also serve as our business mentors, helping us prepare for the working world after graduation,” As for blowouts, Valentin says that some of her favorite tips are that less is more, “too much product is the number one enemy of a good blowout,” she says. “And, many people make the mistake of blow drying hair towards the face when hair should be twirled back, away from the face, for the best result.” Appointments can be made with Valentin, or other blow dry stylists, now at www.thedrybar.com or by calling 312-288-3087.
