Vicari Auction Announces 2nd Annual Cruisin' Nocona

Collector Car Auction And Classic Car Poker Cruise

NOCONA, TX. – The Vicari Auction Company has extended its wildly successful Cruisin' Nocona Auction to two full days of bidding wars.  The 2nd annual Cruisin' Nocona collector car event will offer upwards of 400 classic and muscle cars at auction during the May 1-3 event in downtown Nocona, Texas.

         Nocona, more commonly known for their leather goods including boots and baseball gloves is fast becoming the "Classic Car Capital of Texas."  Vicari Auction has once again partnered with the City of Nocona and the Horton Classic Car Museum, which features nearly 200 automobiles, to launch the newest and fastest growing classic car event in Texas.  Cruisin' Nocona hosts three days of car shows, a Classic Car Poker Cruise and two day collector car auction held by the Harvey, LA based Vicari Auction Company.  Other event entertainment includes live music, food and automotive vendors as well as daily activities hosted by the Nocona Chamber of Commerce.

         Early consignments for the auction include several 1930's street rods, a 1967 Plymouth 340 cubic inch V8 Barracuda coupe and a ready to cruise 1958 Chevrolet Impala convertible.  The '58 Impala is powered by a 280 HP - HA code 348 cubic inch tri-power V8.  This beauty is dressed in Snowcrest white paint with grey, black and red cloth interior, color keyed door panels and brushed aluminum trim.  The 1958 Impala is a very desirable, highly collectible automobile and a great example of the design evolution of early Chevrolets. Vicari Auction estimates the 1958 Chevrolet Impala will bring $90,000 - $100,000 at auction this May.

         Cruisin' Nocona gets rolling with a "Starting of the Engines" by Mayor Robert Fenoglio on May 1st with its second running of the popular Classic Car Poker Cruise originating in downtown Nocona.  Classic cars and their driver's will cruise the scenic wine countryside of North Texas during Bluebonnet season while collecting poker cards for a top prize of $1,000 for the best hand.  Upon return of the cruisers, a parade of classic cars will kick off the first day of car shows for the general public.  "Nocona, TX has proven to be a fantastic venue to host a classic car cruise and auction.  Last year's one day sale was a success with over $2.5 million dollars in sales and a vehicle selling rate well over 80%.  We are enthusiastic about the reception by the public and look forward to building this great classic car event with our friends in Nocona," said Pete Vicari, President and owner of the Vicari Auction Co.
