Tickets on Sale for Freedom Hall 2014 Series in Park Forest

PARK FOREST, Ill. - Jan. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Freedom Hall announces the 2014 Series for the intimate 280-seat Nathan Manilow Theatre in Park Forest. Since 1976, renowned performers have graced the stage at Freedom Hall with a variety of genres. From Jazz and Country to Motown and Irish music, patrons are bound to find something to enjoy including inexpensive concert tickets, free parking, and a convenient location.

Freedom Hall kicks off the 2014 main series with Chicago Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble (CALJE) on Saturday, February 22 at 7:30. Chicago Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble performed at Chicago’s Jazz Fest and received rave reviews. Their world music sound represents Afro-Cuban Jazz, as well as music from Latin America. They incorporate traditional Cuban rhythms with modern Jazz harmony. Chicago Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble (CALJE) continues the legacy of Latin Jazz and big band, while creating new original and genre-bending works. Guitarist Neal Alger joins CALJE for this show!

An encore performance for Masters of Motown will be on Saturday, December 15 at 7:30 with a limited number of tickets available. Masters of Motown is a celebration of Motown artists, their music and style. The show features stylish costumes, fully choreographed tributes to the Temptations, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Four Tops, Diana Ross & Supremes, Jackson Five, Martha Reeves & Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Commodores, and many other great Motown bands.

The popular matinee series with shows monthly on Tuesdays at 11 a.m., starts on February 18 with Lisa Rock in Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters. The Carpenters’ beautiful, memorable love songs topped the Billboard charts with more than a dozen number one hits. Cherish the Ladies, a favorite at Freedom Hall, performs their Irish music with passion and laughter on March 25. When describing Cherish the Ladies, the critics say it best; "It is simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn't enjoy what they do", the Boston Globe. The matinee series concludes with Jason Petty’s Frankly Hank on April 8. Jason Petty has entertained audiences all over the world using his humorous and charming storytelling style, as well as his incredible vocal talents, to pay homage to the legendary Williams. Tickets for the matinee series are $13 for each performance.

P.D. Eastman’s classic picture book “Are You My Mother?” will be performed by ArtsPower National Touring Theater on Friday, March 14. Are You My Mother is an enchanting musical about an adventure that overflows with love, dedication and friendship. Afternoon and evening tickets available for $8.
