SAN JOSE, Calif. - Jan. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- City of San Jose - Lunar New Year Proclamation

SAN JOSE, CA. – Vietnamese American Roundtable (VAR) has been invited to attend the January 28, 2014 San Jose City Council Meeting by the office of Councilmember Kansen Chu (D-4).  Councilmember Chu will be issuing a Proclamation in Celebration of the 2014 Lunar New Year and has asked VAR to accept this Proclamation on behalf of the residents of San Jose.

The 2014 Lunar New Year celebrates the Year of the Horse starting on Friday, January 31, 2014. The Lunar New Year (called Tết in Vietnamese) is an important holiday tradition for a number of ethnic communities in San Jose, including the Chinese and Vietnamese. The Lunar New Year is a time of renewal and optimism with special emphasis on reconnecting with one’s family and community.

Please join us in celebration of the Lunar New Year spirit on January 28th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the San Jose Council Chambers, located on 200 East Santa Clara Street, San Jose 95113.
