Exclusive awareness expansion for Amazing Grace Child and Family services

DALLAS - Jan. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- 200 additional beds for children in foster care, 10 transitional homes, and extensive free community parenting classes.The 2014 awareness expansion is to reach families, government officials, school districts, and churches. Seeking partnership and collaboration to raise $200,000. The donations will be distributed towards awareness to recruit, screen, train, develop quality foster parents, and transitional homes.

No one comes into this world knowing how to be a good parent. The challenges and experiences of our lives directly affect the environment we create for our own children. We know now that crime, divorce, scores of diseases, obesity and poor academic performance are directly linked to adverse childhood experiences, such as child abuse and neglect.  Amazing Grace Child and Family Services is committed, both locally and globally, to providing child abuse and neglect prevention programs, parenting classes, parenting tips and tools that anyone can use to develop positive parenting and coparenting, appropriate discipline, anger management and conflict resolution skills. We offer classes for the entire family no matter what the composition may be.

Classes include topics such as:

• Whole Brain Parenting

• Attention Deficit Disorder

• Self Care

• Behavior Management and Using Behavior Charts

• Mental Health 101

• Childhood development

• Preventing Sexual Misconduct

• Suicide Prevention

• Substance Use, Abuse and Addiction

Certificates will be provided at the conclusion of each class.

Number of licensed family foster care homes: 7,921

Average number of different foster care placements children experience: 3.7

Percent of children placed in facilities(rather than family foster homes): 24%,

Average length of time spent in foster care: 23.9 months (2.0) years
