Young Artists Shine at the Springs Preserve

LAS VEGAS - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- WHAT: The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and the Springs Preserve are proud to partner with The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers to host the Southern Nevada Regional Competition and exhibit. Visitors will have the chance to view award-winning artwork from local students (grades 7-12) as we showcase a wide array of formats, from painting to photography,sculpture to digital design. Founded in 1923, The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the oldest, longest running, and most prestigious recognition program for student achievement in the visual arts and creative writing in the United States. Since its inception the awards have served as a window through which some of the finest future visionaries could be glimpsed. Alumni include artist Andy Warhol, writer Sylvia Plath, photographer Richard Avendon, actor Robert Redford, filmmaker Ken Burns, and many more. This creative exhibit is on display in the Big Springs Gallery and is free for Springs Preserve members or included with paid general admission.
