By: Resonar Ltd When the existing gas-fired pressure jet boilers were found to be leaking, Roy Drayton, Engineering Services Manager at Cambridgeshire County Council, provided a brief for a complete redesign of the existing heating system, naming Remeha Gas 310 Eco Pro 10-section condensing boilers in the brief. Atkins were successful in taking the project forward. Andrew Stevenson, Atkins Head of Engineering at their Colchester office said, “Atkins are very pleased to be involved with the project which has turned out to be a very neat solution to an old boiler room installation" “Reliability was a key factor in this heating replacement project,” commented Mr Drayton. “We also saw this as an opportunity to improve our energy efficiency and reduce both carbon emissions and fuel consumption in line with the Council’s environmental commitments. The Remeha boilers met all the criteria.” The installation was carried out by a team of qualified engineers from Imtech Aqua Maintenance, the principal maintenance contractor for Cambridgeshire County Council. Imtech Aqua has over forty years’ experience of maintenance projects and their head office is located in Cambridgeshire. “Remeha were selected for the quality and reliability of the products,” added Guy Busfield, Branch Manager at Imtech. With the boilers in place and fully commissioned, Mr Drayton is looking forward to lower fuel bills when the temperatures begin to drop. “We’re very pleased. It was an awkward basement boiler house with asbestos that had to be removed before works could commence and by carefully selecting the right product, we now have an installation that exceeds expectations.” The new generation Remeha Gas 310/610 Eco Pro range of fully assembled, free-standing, fully-modulating boilers are available in 5 to 10 sections with outputs from 51 to 1202 kW. Lightweight and compact, they are small enough to fit through any standard doorway and can be dissembled when necessary, for versatile, flexible installation design. With higher than average annual efficiencies of up to 109.6% NCV and ultra low-NOx and carbon emissions, they deliver reliable, green heating in new build and renovation projects. www.remeha.co.uk – T: 0118 978 3434 – E: boilers@remeha.co.uk End
