Dzma 2014! India's First Design & Media Festival is here

PUNE, India - Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Welcome to Change. Welcome to the world of design and media where colours, thoughts, paintings, words, emotions, reason, frills and fiction all have an intrinsic value of their own.

Welcome to DZMA.

The core concept this year is ‘Dynamic Storytelling’, and we’re looking to be entertained while we’re being educated, as should you.  Slated to be held between the 11th and 16th of February, this is the inaugural edition of the festival. Combining an array of workshops/seminars, contests and loads of entertainment  - to be held at the Symbiosis Viman Nagar - it promises to be an experience unlike any other.

A joint venture between the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (UG) and the Symbiosis Institute of Design, DZMA 2014 is proud to bring to you the following:

PROFESSIONAL POWOW

Need a word of advice about answering that clarion call? Or, even better, an entire panel of experience? Look no further! The range of seminars for the five-day fest is extensive - from Fashion Design workshops, Advertising and Journalism talks, to a nostalgic discussion on TV in the 90's - with none other than the whacky Cyrus Broacha. Join up - it's your chance to attend a DZMA- Con!

CLASH OF THE CONTESTANTS

Like a Titan war saga, there's a role for everyone to play. Like to reign over the soapbox? Sign up for Make Your Point.  How about an epic battle of words? Then it's the poetry slam and Wordsworth for you. The runway is yours to dominate in the Model Hunt, and challenge Google itself with your doodle- creation. Face-painting, stand-up comedy, blogging, theatre, adventure sports  - we have it all. Hey, if you got it, you flaunt it, right?

THIS-IS-SPARTA!

Face off in the games played time-immemorial (in college). Basketball, football, futsal, table tennis, throwball - no fest is complete without a victory of the beasts. Channel your inner King Leonidas, and get ready...to conquer.

THE EAST SIDE STORY 2.0

It's the second edition of the film fest that took SIMC-UG by a storm. This year, it provides a chance for amateur filmmakers to compete in the fiction, animation and non-fiction categories, and screen those of veterans as well. Presiding over the critics 'panel are the famed Rajeev Masand, and creative leader Ravi Deshpande. It's newer, bigger, better. Welcome to TESS 2.0.

IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER

Sundowners, baby! Let loose and feel infinite as the sundowners descend to end each day of the fest. Strike a chord with Plug 'n' Play - a battle of bands, shake a hip with Footloose, a dance fun-game, and cheer as the Runway Rage and Awards Night take over the stage. Leaving the arena ain't an option till the only one left...is yourself.

So come one, come all. Word to the wise, don’t bring your inhibitions.
