Picture Framing Needs to be about Preservation

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Too little is written or discussed about proper framing for the consumer, as the framing industry is full of both small frame shops and big box stores that ignorantly harm people's art with improper framing materials and techniques.

Rick Badwey's background involved handling old and rare art which needed proper framing to preserve them for many years to come.

From a diploma to a rare signed historical document, people frame things not only to present them in an attractive display, but also to protect them for years.

All too often, people don't realize until later, upon examining the frame, or through an incident related to the frame (like an accident), that the item may have been improperly framed.

Knowledge, Trust and Integrity are key elements people should look for in a framer before entrusting their personal and important items to these people.

The reason being is that once the item is framed, the consumer does not know if the item was framed properly.  This is important to ensure longevity of the artwork.
