PRLog -- Many business owners received an email from Google asking them to confirm their Google Places listing by February 21, 2014. This message was not spam and overlooking the steps which need to be taken within the next few days may result in a business listing being taken off of Google Maps. If this were to happen, impacted business owners would have to reapply to Google for their listings on Google Maps and it may take up to four weeks to have the listing relinked for the world to see.
Google needs certain business owners to review their listings on Google Places by February 21, 2014. Business owners can access Google Places by following this link (https://www.google.com/
business/placesforbusiness/)
. According to Jade Wang, Google Business Community Manager, the reason for this drive is “so we [Google] can continue providing people with the best experience when they're looking for local businesses.”
Even if a business owner did not receive the email as one of the potentially impacted companies, RCC Web Media Agency still suggests taking the requested steps of signing into the site to confirm their business listings. With the February 21, 2014 deadline quickly approaching for the Google Places verification, time is of the essence.
