By: RAZ Productions With today’s Cosmopolitan and Maxim magazines, movies, TV, and You Tube, one is inclined to think that the youth of today know all about sexuality just as they do the latest wireless technology. “This is where our preconceived notions are incorrect,” explains Ranee Alison Spina, one of the co-authors. “The millennial generation is inundated with sexually-aggressive messages, and there are simply not enough educational avenues that fall within a student’s comfort zone to discuss what he or she is seeing and hearing.” College students are quick to Google a sexual phrase which typically results in links where there is an excess of incorrect information online. The authors, Dr. Kim Chestnut and Ranee Alison Spina, have spent thousands of hours answering intimate questions from confused college students. With this book, students now have a better chance at both personal and professional success. Chestnut acknowledges, “An informed young adult population is a more effective approach to warding off unhealthy relationships, unplanned pregnancy, infections/diseases, and date rape. The dialog builds a greater understanding of diversity related to sexuality.” Utilizing this content, counselors, parents and other caretakers will also be able to confidently open discussions with students on how to feel and think about sexuality. Though Ranee and Dr. Kim’s exchanges with students most often reference heterosexual coupling, they address some questions pertaining to various relationship styles. Because You Keep Asking crosses religious, political, and geographical boundaries. Chestnut and Spina had a specific goal in mind, “Our answers are to guide young adults through a highly-developmental time, helping students to better understand themselves and how to communicate with others in order to protect their mental and physical health.” Campus Professionals applaud the book’s topics for, “There are many students who never ask the questions they want answered; therefore, there is a lot of misinformation being passed around. Because You Keep Asking is a great resource in providing accurate information.” Students across the country have given rave reviews to the book, “Ranee and Kim understand us and get on our level. Their answers are honest and funny.” The paperback is now available on Amazon with the e-book to follow.
