Follow on Google News | Mobile Websites- You can’t teach an Old Dog New TricksYou can’t teach an Old Dog New Tricks, is something that you say which means it is difficult to make someone change the way they do something when they have been doing it the same way for a long time.Folks your Desktop site? Might be an Old Dog!
By: Camel and Straw I have lost count how many times I have heard, “Yes our Website is Mobile” and when I show people there current site on a Mobile Phone all they see is a poor old puppy being dragged out of the Kennel and being forced into jumping for a Frisbee when all the old pooch wants to do is lay down and sleep. If strangers walk past your house the Old Dog might give out a bit of bark but most of the time he just lifts his head from a slumber, lets out an obligatory, “Woof” and then goes back to dreaming of the good old days. But see the difference with a young and exciting pooch, it bounds out of that kennel, leaps like a pole vaulter when you throw that Frisbee. When you wake up or come home it’s like an out of control ball of energy just desperate to have fun and make you happy, Tail a wagging, ears pricked up its just waiting to have fun and give you joy. If a stranger try’s to enter you domain they are barked at with a loud and powerful, “Who goes there” In a way a Desktop Website is a lot like an Old Dog, the world changes so fast that one year can seem like seven so that exciting picture you put up 3 years ago? Can look like it’s now been 21 years. What used to be fun and exciting with that bit of flash you had, well now it’s a little old school. Worst of all? All those really great big huge pictures of your super sensational Potato Peeler with the Sexy Model holding it? Just don’t load on a Mobile Phone. All the Wikipedia Information that you think is so important? Nobody is going to read it, and if you think people are going to scroll down and down and down for 5 Minutes to find what they want? Well they will be visiting another pet store sooner than you can say, “Fetch Boy” So if you’re looking at where the world is heading website wise and thinking it’s about time to give Mobile a go? Might be the time to consider letting that Poor Old Fella of a website take a rest and get yourself a new bundle of joy, get a real Mobile site. Mobile is Like a New Puppy, all full of energy and excitement that everybody wants to play with it. And that, Is the goal of a website for your Business that it encourages those reading it? To Come and Play! End
