Norplex-Micarta Appoints Manufacturing Engineer

POSTVILLE, Iowa - Feb. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- POSTVILLE, IA –Norplex-Micarta, the leading manufacturer of high performance thermoset composites, is pleased to announce the promotion of Chris Crawford to Manufacturing Engineer at the company’s Postville, IA headquarters. Mr. Crawford’s responsibilities now include implementing changes to raw materials and manufacturing processes to meet customer needs, working to reduce scrap through refinement of the organization’s manufacturing processes, providing technical support to internal operations, specifying and identifying new equipment, proving equipment capabilities and daily involvement in the plant manufacturing activities.

Mr. Crawford has been with Norplex-Micarta for ten years and has spent the last eight years as a Customer Service Representative. There he was responsible for all phases of customer order management, which included order entry and review, responding to customer inquiries, preparing price quotes, order expediting and information exchanges with customers, field sales personnel, and the plant staff. Mr. Crawford holds a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and a Master of Science in Agricultural Education from Iowa State University.
