TAPPAN, N.Y. - Feb. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Tappan, NY – Green Lion Farms, Seattle's first production cannabis nursery, has selected MAX Grow Lights for use in select flowering rooms.  Specifically, Green Lion Farms will be using the Max600, their most powerful LED grow light with 384 High Power LEDs. The Max600 LED Grow Lights are only 125watts each and only draw .87amps per unit.  The growing area for each Max600 is 16 square feet.

MAX Grow Lights are high power fixtures that feature a simple plug-n-play installation.  Its advanced design eliminates the need for fans or a central cooling system making the Max 600 always cool to the touch. Another added benefit of the MAX line of grow lights is that they can be used for both growth and flowering.  “Green Lion Farms tested this feature when they placed the Max600 in a flowering room that houses retired mother plants.  Their results, which have been chronicled on their website, have been nothing short of amazing,” says Jeff Gasman, President, MAX Grow Lights.

Before the Max600 was introduced into the room, all of the retired mother plants had minimal leaves and had been wind whipped from being too close to a fan for too long.  The plants also showed signs of boron, calcium and magnesium deficiency. These mothers were previously kept under a 600 watt HPS light with a splash of T5 fluorescent light mixed in.

“During the hanging of the lights, the mothers were placed out of the way and off to the side, outside of the light’s profile,” Vanessa Kelly, Co-Founder, Green Lion Farms, explains.  “After about 10 minutes they all started to lean towards the light’s profile.”

After about 2 hours the mothers all showed signs of foliage growth.  By the end of just week 1, Green Lion Farms reported a positive change in the mother plants, not to mention the cost of electricity that they are saving.

By the end of week 2, all strains placed under the Max600 LED grow light displayed massive leave regrowth and display a deep lush green appearance in color. Vanessa said, “The plants just look like they’re singing when you walk into the room.”

By week 3, Vanessa said, “Small buds of the flowers are really starting to pack on weight. The rate at which they’re putting on weight appears to be faster than the High Pressure Sodium or Metal Halide lights we normally use. There’s still no sign of hot spots or a difference in the light profile; I’ve not had to rotate any of our flower plants.”  Also,  Vanessa reported that power consumption had been reduced by 1/3.

And finally, “By week 4, more strains had been added to the room, flowering is really beginning to take off and the room is filled with the aroma of earthy pine sativas and mouthwatering rich smells of indica flowers,” said Vanessa.  Green Lion Farms started out with four MAX LED lights and have ordered eight more.  MAX LED grow lights are also used by Survive Green, an organic nutrient company in California, the 420Times.com and others.

Gasman also said about their LED grow lights, “MAX Grow Lights are advanced LED grow lights that deliver incredible intensity across the bright white spectrums. They are designed to significantly reduce your costs of growing while ensuring maximum growth from your harvests. The Max Grow 200, 400 and 600 LED lighting products offers the flexibility to customize any grow room with light that best fits your needs.”
