Dan's career has been focused on the business and technologies behind mobile software and Internet. Dan currently heads products for Emotient, a startup commercializing technology for recognizing expressions from standard video and web cameras. Prior to that, he was vp of product management at Openwave whose products spanned large scale mobile Internet middleware (mobile web, messaging, location), web apps, mobile APIs and developer tools, network optimization, and developer ecosystem development. Dan's entire career has been singularly focused on software product management and development, from the fortune 500 to startups, building startup teams from scratch to leading larger teams at a public company. He enjoys using a rare combination of business strategy, hands-on technical knowledge, teamwork, ecosystem development, and go-to-market execution to achieve market success. Earlier in his career, he worked at Procter & Gamble, Sun Microsystems, and startups. He earned a B.S. in engineering at Cornell and an MBA at Harvard.
