By: CHALCYOND Carey is an accomplished and highly respected published author of 12 real estate books, business owner, CEO, CFO, leader, entertainer, musician, film maker, advocate, philanthropist, mother & wife. She and her husband, the Honorable William Carey, live in Fannin County with all their furry babies while their daughter and son-in-law serve our country posted out of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Carey, a former college cheerleader, dancer, and triathlete, graduated as class president from her university with a B.S. in Business & Psychology. She has been in several episodes of the current TNT hit series Dallas, played music for thousands, graced many stages as a lead actor, is currently producing several projects, coaches executives and real estate investors, is on several civic and social boards and has lived a life of service and advocacy for various organizations over the last decades. Her latest adventure to her good health routine is adding in cross fit training and hopes to compete soon in a variety of fitness races. Most importantly Carey is a survivor, a VICTOR, over pesticide poisoning and now daily lives with the challenges of MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) As Mrs. North Texas International 2014 and next as Mrs. Texas International 2014 should Carey win on March 16, she will continue to advocate and serve as a spokesperson for GREEN MIND GREEN BODY: MCS Awareness Project. Carey is a grateful survivor and proud Texan who considers service to mankind something that runs in her blood, walking the walk that God has put before her. As part of the Mrs. International system’s national alliance with the Go Red for Women Campaign from the American Heart Association, Carey also promotes a heart-healthy lifestyle through this initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health. As a pesticide poisoning “VICTOR” now living with MCS, traced to a 1998 tour to the south seas, Carey was finally diagnosed with only 2 weeks left to live in Oct 2001. She went from a healthy athlete to near death with her autonomic nervous system shutting down and her organs function at 23% and failing fast. She lost most of her hair and skin and blew up like a balloon. Conventional medicine was failing her. Her only hope was a world renowned MD who specialized in environmentally caused health issues. Having studied natural health since age 14 her natural clean living is what gave her a fighting chance. Her recovery included having to stop eating anything but organic celery until her organ functions were going in the right direction - which took six weeks during which she dropped from a blown up 180 pounds down to her previous normal muscular 126 pounds, drinking clean natural water stored in glass, daily dry heat far infrared saunas of 210 degrees, oxygen therapy, massage therapy, and lots of sleep. Once the emergency phase passed she had to start rebuilding her strength and her immune system with injections created from her own t-cells injected into her abs, relearn how to speak coherent sentences, math, and play the keyboard, memory therapy, relearn how to move and regain her balance, discover what new chemical or food sensitivities she now had, let time pass to recover her hair, skin, and vision, learn what little variety she could now eat without adverse health reaction, and learn how to think ahead and plan for self protection from chemical exposure before going into any public situation. Her passion for her hard-won physical fitness continues to this day, as she is beginning cross fit sports, fighting hard to continue to daily survive the onslaught of chemicals in her surroundings over which she has no control. This gives her empathy for those struggling with any physical disability or challenges – feeds her passion to spread the word to everyone of how they too can prevent, protect, and possibly recover from environmental and medical chemical overloading. Carey will go on to compete against the other 49 states and countries around the world for the title of Mrs. International 2014 in July in Florida if she wins the title of Mrs. Texas International 2014 on March 16. We're looking for more than a pretty face: International Winners have beauty and depth. * Each contestant is required to select a platform which she will spend the year promoting if selected as Mrs. Texas International. * Contestants do not compete in a swimwear competition. Instead contestants compete in a more modest "fitness wear" category. This segment of the competition showcases the importance of a healthy, energetic lifestyle. * Interview is worth 50% of the total score. The interview focuses on a contestant's accomplishments, ambitions and the platform which she has selected. * All the constants are winners. We make sure that each contestant leaves the competition knowing she is a winner, regardless of whether she received the title. End
