Kayak Morris Campground Grand Opening

CHICAGO - March 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Kayak Morris’ Campground grand opening event will be on the 26^th of April. The theme of the event will be “Earth Day Family Campout &  Kayak Tour.”

Kayak Morris is an Environmental Education based Outfitter.   They utilize Kayaking, Camping and other outdoor pursuits as vectors for teaching kids of all ages about the outdoors.  Their all inclusive tours/overnight campouts are educational journeys to teach kids and adults about natural resources and how they may preserve them for generations to come.  Their events teach about wildlife/plantlife of past and present and show how each of us may contribute to their conservation, management, and preservation.  Did you know that the only place you can find the Illinois state fossil (Tully Monster) is right within one of the rivers (Mazon) they paddle?  Kayak Morris teaches utilizing fossils, rope(teaching mariners knots), Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources Posters, flash cards of our state symbols and experiential learning tools (catch & release fishing, plant/tree identification, etc.).  Kayak Morris’ campground is situated on the sandy beaches of Mazon River/Illinois River, right next to I & M Canal.  The campground is fully wooded and offers many secluded tent campsites for relaxing  and enjoying  nature.

Kayak Morris campgrounds’ grand opening will feature an all inclusive family friendly group Glampout (glamorous campout).   When campers arrive they will be treated to a potluck dinner and a movie under the stars.  The next morning campers will be greeted with a hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes and Starbucks coffee.  Later that morning, campers will enjoy a guided kayak tour where paddlers will be able to get up close and personal with nature.

Kayak Morris features Three Amazing waterways: The Mazon River, Illinois & Michigan Canal / Towpath, and Illinois River. The company offers vehicle accessible camping.  Kayak Morris is a perfect location for scout groups, park district groups, church groups, family reunions and birthday parties.
