By: Charity Miles The three month, 3,200 mile run dubbed “Anna Runs America” will start at the edge of The Pacific from The Venice Beach Pier in Venice, CA and will end under the Washington Square Arch in New York City. During her trek, Anna will stop at several Veteran Bases and will be joined by members of local RWB chapters who will show their support by running alongside her for sections of the trip. When asked why she is running across the country Anna stated, “This run is about pushing beyond our natural limitations. It is about living courageously. It is about taking a stand for what we believe in and feel passionately about. And, it is about being the change that we want to see in the world.” As to why she chose to support veterans, Anna simply answered, “I thought long and hard and no other group is so heavily woven into the fabric of this great country and without them none of us would endure the freedoms and opportunities that all Americans enjoy. I thought this was a way to say thank you to all those amazing men and women who’ve fought so hard for what we often take for granted.” Anna will be running with 22 rocks in her pocket as a reminder that every day 22 Veterans commit suicide in this country. She feels very strongly about helping to provide services and guidance to our country’s Veterans, many of whom are left to suffer without proper support.
