With the news of the death of Fred Phelps, Muslims for Progressive Values (MPV) extends our thoughts and prayers to the family and to the Westboro Baptist community. May Fred Phelps find mercy and peace in his journey.

MPV hopes the Westboro Baptist community strives for more compassion in the future and, during this moment of grief, understands the need for respect during mourning regardless of whether someone is a member of the Westboro Baptist community, military, LGBTQ, Muslim, etc...
