Anderson's Bookstore Inks Local Thriller Author JT Patten

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. - April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Anderson's Bookstore, a fifth-generation, PW Bookstore of the Year, has signed an initial agreement to place local author, J.T. Patten's highly acclaimed Safe Havens: Shadow Master, a black ops novel on their shelves.

Patten, a former intelligence and counter-terrorism advisor, made the cut to have his debut action-espionage book selected for placement.  His novel has received accolades as "a gripping and rare inside look at black operations", by Tom Clancy's co-author, Mark Greaney, and the Navy SEAL's bin Ladin raid account, by No Easy Day's co-author, Kevin Maurer.

Patten remarked about being accepted by Anderson's, "It was a no-brainer to reach out to my local bookstore and--if selected--grant them exclusive placement for my signed copies.  It's where I go to find local authors and to support the independent bookstore.  I am excited about the partnership with the Downers Grove location, and hope that locals who enjoy espionage and military thrillers by Clancy, Ludlum, and Flynn may give their neighbor a try."  According to Patten, the novel is currently under consideration at the Naperville location.

Many factors influence Anderson Bookstore's decision on whether to carry a title.  After review, it was decided that the popular genre, 5-star ratings, and local flavor of Safe Havens: Shadow Masters was worth considering for the Downers Grove contemporary fiction shelves.
