Baby Lock Introduces New Momentum Longarm Quilt Frame that “Moves With You”

April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- From piecing to finishing, one of the biggest challenges while making a quilt is having enough space. This spring, Baby Lock introduces a frame unlike any other that will definitely help with large quilts.  The new Baby Lock Momentum longarm quilt frame moves with the quilter.

The patent-pending gliding rail system in the new Baby Lock Momentum moves in sync with the quilter. Rather than constantly rolling the quilt for additional space, the Momentum automatically gives quilters up to six extra inches of space. This new technology will help quilters finish projects more efficiently as well as accurately stitch continuous designs. On traditional frames, the bulk of the rolled quilt would impede on quilting space. The Baby Lock Momentum Frame moves the finished rolled quilt out of the way so quilters are left with about the same amount of quilting space they had in the beginning.

Additionally, the Momentum has height-adjustable legs to work with quilters of all sizes. This eases the strain on quilters’ bodies and means more time quilting in comfort. For further customization, the moving rail can be set to three different speeds. This way the quilter can specify how quickly the rail reacts to their movements and finishing quilts becomes seamless.

Not only is the Momentum easy to use, it comes with helpful assembly features, too. The Momentum comes with fully welded side legs for increased durability and less set-up. There are also pre-assembled components included.

With the introduction of the Momentum frame comes the new Crown Jewel II.  The Crown Jewel II has all the great features its predecessor had in addition to some new things that quilters will love. This 18-inch longarm is compatible with the new Momentum frame and Baby Lock longarm software. It has an easy to read LCD touch screen, lights over the needle, and more.  New features include three customizable speed settings, four basting stitch options, a low thread estimator to help keep track of bobbin thread, and two timers to help track time spent on projects. The Crown Jewel II also now includes an open toe foot and a new interchangeable hopping foot.

The entire Baby Lock royal longarm family received an update. Baby Lock is also introducing the Tiara II this spring. This 16-inch sit-down longarm machine is ideal for quilters with a little less space in their sewing rooms. New features in the Tiara II include five basting stitch options, two timers, and a low thread estimator. The machine also now comes with an interchangeable hopping foot and an open toe foot. The Tiara II does not sit on a frame, but instead comes with a table. The optional Tiara Studio by Koala is also available.
