The Texas Pit Opens to Provide Premier Private Lake Fishing in Central Texas

April 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Burnet, Tx, Apr. 2, 2014 – The Texas Pit recently opened for business to provide bass and catfish fishing on a pristine private lake near Austin, Texas.  It is a truly unique Texas fishing hole and is now open to anglers seeking a new, different and quality fishing destination.

The Texas Pit, located in the Texas hill country, is spring fed with clean, clear water.  It maintains a constant level for more consistent fishing, even through the drought.  It is a former rock quarry reclaimed for private fishing over 35 years ago.  The lake covers 29.5 acres with an average depth of 70 feet.  The water surface is over 20 feet below ground level, great for windy days.

This lake is a fisherman's dream and is considered one of the top private fishing “holes” in Texas.  It has depths up to 125 feet with trees, rocks and rough, jagged cliffs throughout. This lake has been stocked with bass and catfish from the National Fish Hatchery starting 45 years ago.  The largest bass caught to date is 13.5 lbs. This lake consistently produces 5 to 10 catches within an hour.  Most outings of about an hour have produced multiple 3+ lb bass for over 35 years.

The Texas Pit is currently only open on Saturdays, but may be reserved for private fishing parties during the week.  It’s a great venue for entertaining clients, executives or employees.
