United Kingdom Introduces Immigration Changes

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The United Kingdom has announced changes to the Visa and Immigration Point-Based system and introduced new rules which involve the application processes of Tier1, Tier 4 and Tier 5 visa sponsors. Significant changes in the Tier 1 Sponsorship category are as follows:

Special Talent:

* This category is expanded to allow companies to hire skilled workers from the digital technology sector of any country.

Investors:

* Visa extension may be permitted as a result of an investment delay (of more than three months) if the cause is unexpected and beyond the investor’s control.

* Investors may have their leave reduced if they are unable to invest within first three months. They may also be subject to an increased waiting period before they are entitled to apply for settlement.

Companies planning to hire or establish offices in the UK may benefit from the new amendments; however,it is advisable to understand and plan accordingly for the new requirements and procedures.
