International School of Arizona Middle School ExpansionFrench Middle School Coming to Scottsdale in August 2014: the one and only bilingual 5th-8th grade program in the valley
By: International School of Arizona ISA has grown from 15 students in 1998 to nearly 300 students today with a staff of over 30 teachers from all over the globe. ISA will provide students with an international middle school language immersion program accredited by the French Ministry of Education (agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger) Multilingualism: Research shows that bilingual children consistently surpass their monolingual peers on standardized tests, not only on English language subjects, but also in math and science. An article published in The New York Times in January 2014 states that in New York’s Schools "the French dual-language program, in which half the classes are in French and the other half in English, is booming" and that in an increasingly globalized world multilingualism is very important for a student’s future employment possibilities. ISA would like to raise awareness to parents in the community about their exceptional language immersion programs and establish the same advanced education already offered in other big cities in the United States therefore helping Phoenix advance in the arena of global education at the middle school grade levels.
