Follow on Google News | First issue of neon-noir comic series San Hannibal debuts April 16Highly anticipated detective story leads readers through a mysterious new world in five bi-monthly chapters
Debuting in comic book stores everywhere on April 16, San Hannibal is a five-issue retro-futuristic, hard-boiled crime series created by Dan Schkade, with art in the first issue by JD Faith. Featuring a look and feel unlike anything else—call it “neon noir”—San Hannibal is as visually daring as it is entirely engrossing. Critics are already raving about the debut issue. Derek Royal of the Comics Alternative Podcast says the “neon intensity” of the artwork underscores “a noir tone. It’s like a harsh light has been cast on the subject matter, distorting appearances and affecting the way that Avery sees the world surrounding his missing journalist.” Schkade, writes and/or draws the web-based comics The Fowl and The Adventures of Stop and Go at http://thecommitteebuilding.com. Faith created the superhero webcomic Acrobat and illustrates the coming-of-age sci-fi thriller Just Another Sheep at justanothersheep.com. San Hannibal #1 is priced at $2.99 and will be available in comic book stores as well as digital outlets on April 16. For more information, visit http://www.popgoestheicon.com.
