John Ross Palmer Unveils Satori 2014 Art Series

Satori is the most exclusive art series created by John Ross Palmer, the Hardest Working Man in the Art Business® and Founder of the Art Movement of Escapism. It is released in three phases over a ten year period: 2009, 2014 and 2019.

HOUSTON - April 14, 2014 - PRLog -- On the evening of April 4, 2014, Artist John Ross Palmer unveiled the second phase of his Satori art series at the John Palmer Art Gallery & Studio in the Historic Houston Heights.  VIP guests dined on sushi and sipped champagne as they relished in being the first group to see the vibrant and symbolic series.  The evening included an introduction of Palmer’s 2014 Escapist Artists, a brief talk by Palmer and his husband Ryan Lindsay about the history of Satori and a special thank you and award presentation to Satori collectors and 2012 Vallone Award Winners Brian and Janet Franklin.

Prior to the VIP unveiling, for months, Palmer courted premier collectors with personalized correspondence on the inspiration and technique behind Satori 2014.  He then orchestrated one-on-one previews with his biggest and best where the guests watched a 3 minute preview film in a special viewing studio, read a dynamic Catalogue with Introduction by Houston & Marfa art patron Lynn Goode, sipped wine and champagne and dined on sliders, breakfast biscuits or mac and cheese bites before choosing to acquire or pass on one of the valuable original art pieces.

Satori is released in three phases of six paintings each over a ten year period: 2009, 2014 and 2019.  It is the most exclusive art series created by Palmer, the Founder of the Art Movement of Escapism.  Satori embodies the concept of Sudden Enlightenment with this second phase representing Enjoyment.  The unveiling of Satori 2014 was truly a celebration for John Ross Palmer—who’s weathered a long road since the initial phase unveiling in 2009.  “Coming out of 2008, my business was booming.  The down economy then hit my small business very hard.  It was right in sync with the unveiling of Satori 2009—making it nearly impossible to place all pieces of this exclusive art series.”  But, through hard work and inventive marketing, all pieces were placed…and in the meantime, Palmer’s business “grew” by becoming leaner and smarter.  Palmer explains, “Having more employees with inventive titles does not make a business ‘successful.’ That’s a reality that I had to accept.  I learned over the last five years to get back to basics—offering the ultimate, personalized ‘experience’ in tandem with my artwork to catapult my business forward.  I learned that I had to accept challenges to enjoy life.”
