David Wayne Britt was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. October 1st 1975 is his birthday. David graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998 where he played tennis for the Tarheels. He started playing violin at age 3 and started singing in the church choir a few years later. He always loved music and had dreams of wanting to write and sing his whole life, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that he actually started, and realized his calling was to be a songwriter. David was working as a commercial real estate broker and had for several years before that been a tennis professional, but still couldn’t get music out of his mind. As most artists will tell you, in order to start writing there is always a catalyst, especially in country music. One usually goes through some kind of life changing event before writing their first note. Love found, love lost, heart break etc. You can say David had some of that for sure, and in turn, it got him into writing music-- currently 522 songs to date. Although that was the kick starter for his music, today he writes about all kinds of things. From one day to the next you never know what he may write about, but no matter what it is, it comes from the heart whether it’s happy, sad, or funny. David is a die hard romantic and nearly everything he writes comes from personal experiences in his life. His music is real. His musical influences are everything from Motown, Elvis, The Oak Ridge Boys, all the way to the Dave Matthews Band. He loves all genres of music. David plays, guitar, violin, and the mandolin. David resides in Charlotte North Carolina and has two beautiful children he enjoys being with all the time.
