Learn to Stand Up for Yourself!

April 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Stand Up For Yourself! The Courage to Follow Your Own Truth is a three-part, "self-liberation" workshop open to anyone over 18 years of age who wants to take back his or her own power. The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Fridays, May 16, 30 and June 6 in The Red Room at The Red Dress, an eclectic shop and community creativity center, 54 Front Street, Ashland, MA.

Those who register by April 30 will be eligible to participate in a free follow-up coaching session at the end of June.

Creativity Activist, Essay Writer, and Karaoke Singer Giulietta “Julie” Nardone will guide the class. She has been offering creativity and self-liberation classes since 2004. She also co-hosts “a fun, Nancy-Drew-Meets-60-Minutes cable show” about local government called, “What’s Really Going On?” In 2011, she founded The Off Center for Wild And Disobedient Creativity in Ashland.

“We’re raised to be well-behaved followers," Nardone said. "This conditioning forms adults who feel they need permission to take action. In this class, participants will be encouraged to reclaim their power, find their own voice, and speak it. If you can speak up, you can change your life and the world!”

The small, supportive workshop will be limited to eight participants. A variety of exercises will be used to build up the courage of participants, whether they want to speak in front of a town meeting, to friends or at a networking event. The fee is $99, and includes light refreshments.
