By: LA Femme International Film Festival “We are celebrating our tenth year and the amount of women filmmakers that have passed though our theatres is like a rolodex of the new Hollywood,” said Leslie LaPage, Founder. LA Femme currently offers reduced entry fees until May 16, 2014 to encourage a wide range of filmmaker submissions making it affordable for students and independent filmmakers to submit their projects. LA Femme screens a very diverse cross section of films from around the world. A film at LA Femme does not have to be directed by a woman, but a requirement for submission is that the film involves a woman in a leadership role as the film’s writer, producer, or director. LA Femme accepts and shows a diverse range of film submissions including features, documentaries, mid-length, short films, screenplays, commercials, music videos, animation, games, webisodes, and mobisodes. “Our animation category is growing and we hope to launch some very exciting careers in the decade to come.” Said Ms. LaPage LA Femme will explode this year with an amazingly uplifting and inspiriting Awards Ceremony where the awards will be presented to our filmmaker winners and 2014 honorees.
